A broad survey of the recent technology and models will be reviewed in the context of how AI is reshaping the learning efficacy.

Richard Wang is the R&D lead in Pearson Education Versant automatic language assessment team. His bachelor study was from Fudan University and received master's degree from the University of Illinois Urbanna Champaign. The automatic language learning and assessment team has been serving hundreds of millions customers globally. He also holds 3 patents on language assessment.

Dr. Hao Sun is a computational linguist and psycholinguist by training. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Fudan University in China and his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Linguistics from the State University of New York at Buffalo in the United States. His research centers on cognitive models of language processing, first language acquisition, and digital humanities. In recent years, he has served as a research scientist specializing in language assessment, natural language processing, and automatic speech recognition on the Versant automated language assessment team at Pearson Education.
